GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures. Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients' condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients' progress, and records pertinent observations. Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff. Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals. The following are general characteristics of this job, although duties may vary by assigned unit or shift.

Hours: This is a Full Time Day Shift Weekender Position working 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. Weekender commitment is 10 out of 13 weekends.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing

2. Required Education, Skills and/or Experience:

* Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
* If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date.

3. Required License and/or Certification:

* Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
* Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Job Summary: The staff nurse has the primary responsibility and accountability for the total nursing care of the patients as identified by the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act. Busy Surgical/Oncology Unit Location: Elmhurst Hospital 155 E Brush Hill Road Elmhurst, Illinois Hours: Part time. Will work 48 hours in a 2 week pay period. Nights 7:00pm-7:30am Work every third weekend. Rotating holidays. Qualifications: 1. Should be a self-starter, able to handle frequent periods of high stress. 2. Must be flexible to scheduling changes including scheduled overtime, weekend hours and holidays. 3. Communicates clearly in English, both written and oral. Requirements: Education: BSN. Maintains current CPR certification from American Heart Association. Experience: Requirements vary according to patient care area. License: Current Illinois RN license.
