System Medical Director for an exciting opportunity to lead and grow Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Ochsner Health, the largest not-for-profit academic health system in the Gulf South. Based at Ochsner Hospital for Children’s dedicated state-of-the-art, Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development in New Orleans, the System Medical Director will be responsible for program growth and development across the Gulf Coast region, including Louisiana and Mississippi. The position offers a competitive compensation package, including signing bonus and paid relocation. The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment commensurate with experience.
Ideal candidates for this position are board certified developmental and behavioral pediatricians with a minimum of five years’ experience. Leadership experience is preferred. Physicians with special interests in neuromuscular disorders and cognitive/communication/behavioral disorders are desired but not required for consideration.

Candidates must have experience working with children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental differences. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience with assessment of autism spectrum disorder and/or who completed a fellowship with children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental differences. In addition to robust clinical skills, the ideal candidate will be able to work in a collaborative manner with other health professionals and assist with program development. Responsibilities: Provide care to children, adolescents, and their families within a growing child development center, the only of its kind providing developmental pediatric are to a wide-spanning geography across Louisiana and Mississippi Complete developmental evaluations and coordinate medication management for children with developmental and/or behavioral concerns, including children under the age of 5 years Recommend appropriate follow-up services and help families navigate how to access additional services as indicated, including keeping abreast of resources within and outside of Ochsner specifically for children with developmental delays to facilitate referrals effectively Collaborate with other clinic staff of all levels and disciplines I order to provide true team-based interdisciplinary care for patients and their families. Most of our initial diagnostic clinics follow a true multi-disciplinary team approach.
