Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) is seeking a part-time 0.5 FTE BC/BE Infectious Disease physician.

Position details:

This position will join our Medical Group practicing in Mountain View, CA. Our collaborative, multidisciplinary culture ensures you have the support you need to deliver exceptional personalized care to your patients. Come join a Medical Group of more than 1700 physicians practicing in primary care and more than 45 medical and surgical specialties and has received the highest possible rating for patient experience from the California Office of the Patient Advocate, and “elite” status by the California Association of Physician groups. 

  • Physician-led and collegial environment
  • Working in close collaboration with 3 other Experienced infectious disease specialist
  • Physician will focus on clinic-based consultation and HIV care, with shared coverage at El Camino Hospital, an award-winning not-for profit community hospital located 2 miles from the clinic.
  • Broad range of Interesting and challenging cases including infections in immunocompromised hosts, tuberculosis and other endemic disease, and some HIV.
Qualification(s):
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Infectious Disease
  • Additional immunology experience would be welcome.

About the Division of Infectious Diseases (ID) The division of ID includes an inpatient ID consult service and three outpatient clinics (TB, PACE, and General ID). All three clinics provide guidance via e-consults across the healthcare system. As a member of the Department of Medicine, the division serves as a key training site for SCVMC residents and Stanford University ID fellowship program. ID fellows additionally rotate through the TBC/RHAP. The Tuberculosis Clinic and Refugee Health Assessment Program (TBC/RHAP) cares for 85-100 active TB patients a year, evaluates 450-650 Class B immigrants (new immigrants with abnormal pre-immigration chest films) and follows 750+ patients with latent TB annually. The TBC physicians work closely with the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department and SCVMC to manage about half of all Santa Clara County TB cases. The RHAP currently provides services for 100-200 refugees and asylees. Leadership opportunities are available. The PACE clinic serves 1400 HIV individuals with HIV infection in Santa Clara County. It is the largest Ryan White funded clinic in the area, and functions as a medical home for these individuals. The PACE clinic is expanding pre- and post-HIV exposure prophylaxis services. The general ID clinic cares for patients with complicated infections referred from primary care, community physicians as well as hospital discharges. There is an active outpatient parental antibiotic therapy program (OPAT) as well as an inpatient antibiotic stewardship program. About the Position The position requires board eligibility in Infectious Diseases (ID), CA medical license and DEA license.
