North Surgical Telemetry (B4)

This unit specializing in the care of medical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. The age of patients range from middle, older adults and geriatrics. The most common diagnoses are MI, Chest Pain, Congestive Heart Failure, Transient ischemic attack, pneumonia, cellulitis and uncontrolled Atrial fibrillation.

This position includes, but is not limited to the following essential functions.
  • Performs within the legal framework of the nursing profession as defined by the Nurse Practice Act of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Actively engaged in work designed to sustain and maintain Magnet Recognition Program® accreditation (identifying and submitting 'evidence,' active mentorship and participation in Staff Nurse Leader group activities, preparing unit for Magnet Appraiser site visit activities, etc.).
  • Exhibits understanding and use of the Professional Practice Models: Care Delivery Model 'Excellence in Caring' Shared Governance Model: Professional Practice Committees Professional Development Model: 'Novice to Expert'
  • Decision-making and leadership activities demonstrate ethical behaviors in accordance with TJUH policy and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
  • Demonstrates consistent adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Uses the nursing process in providing professional nursing care based on established nursing care standards, policies and procedures.

Qualifications.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum Education: BSN required or current enrollment as approved by CNO
  • New graduates are welcome to apply if have had work experience as C.N.A or sufficient amount of work experience as student.
  • Generally, a minimum of 1-year licensed professional nursing experience is preferred.
  • Must possess BLS certification.
  • Must possess sound knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and ANA standards of practice and others as determined by state and federal regulations.
  • English proficiency required.
  • Proficient math, keyboarding and other computer skills required.
  • Must be able to function in a dynamic, rehabilitation team work environment.


Conditions of Employment

Responsibilities 7 West/Northwest/Northcenter is a 39 bed medical surgical telemetry unit. The unit provides care for patients with medical diagnoses as well as specialized care required by patients with gynecology oncology surgery. Responsibilities Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Center City - Philadelphia are currently hiring Full Time Divisional Float Registered Nurses for Telemetry and Medical Surgical Units. Medical Surgical/Telemetry Nurses will float to all Medical Surgical and Telemetry Units as needed. Divisional Float Registered Nurses will work on the inpatient units as mentioned above at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Methodist Hospital, and Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience. All positions are either Night Shift (6:45pm-7:15am) with an every 3rd weekend requirement. Divisional Float Registered Nurses are compensated their base rate + a premium for an increased overall hourly rate. Divisional Float RNs will receive shift differential for night and weekends as well as holiday pay. Divisional Float RNs will be added to the 2 year holiday track where the 7 major holidays are rotated over a 2 year period.
